Calyptrocalyx hollrungii grows naturally in the rainforests of New Guinea.
Culture:
This palm was formerly known as Paralinospadix hollrungii and has been in cultivation for a long time. It requires a rich soil which keeps moisture but drains fast since water logging must be avoided.
Description:
Calyptrocalyx hollrungii is a small palm growing to about 2.5 meters and forming dense clumps. The leaves are 40 to 50 cm long with deep corrugations and medium green. New leaves are deep maroon.
Climate Zones:
As all Calyptrocalyx this palm is cold tender and must be protected from cold and dry winds - it grows best in semi-shade.
