Distribution & Habitat:
Chamaedorea adscendens is native to northern Guatemala and southern Belize. It grows there in rainforests to elevaions up to 600 meters high.

Culture:
These palms prefer a well draining soil and filtered light or shade. They like a moist situation and plenty of mulch around their roots.

Description:
This Chamaedorea is a rare, beautiful, solitary-trunked palm which grows to a height of 2 to 2.5 meters. The leaves are thick and leathery and of a distinct bluish green, with a velvety texture. This texture enhances the unusual colour of the leaves even more.

Although this Chamaedorea grows in the tropics and subtropics it will tolerate a short cold spell to around freezing point.
