This palm is endemic to the rainforests of Veracruz, Mexico, where it is on the verge of extinction.
Culture:
Chamaedorea klotzschiana requires a warm, sheltered position in semi-shade.
Description:
Chamaedorea klotzschiana is a small, 3.0 to 3.5 metres tall, very attractive palm with long, nearly one metre, arching leaves and broad, bright green leaflets. The arrangement of the leaflets is very unusual because they grow in irregularly spaced groups along the rachis of the leaves. Furthermore, the leaflets grow in slightly different angles from the rachis.
Climate Zones:
Although from the tropics Chamaedorea klotzschiana is worth a try in subtropical or even warm temperate climates.
