The Flame Palm is a native of the rainforests of New Calidonia and grows there at elevations between 700 and 900 metres.

Description:
Chambeyronia macroparpa is an extraordinary feather palm which grows a spectacular, bright red new leaf, which stays red for up to 10 days. Even without the new red leaf this palm is very attractive with the older leaflets, wide, thick and shiny.
In its natural habitat this palm can grow to 12 or even 14 metres tall with a beautiful leaf crown and a green crownshaft. In the garden the height of Chambeyronia marcrocarpa will probably be only 7 to 10 metres.
Climate Zones:
Suits tropical, sub-tropical and warm temperate climates and it can even take occasional low temperatures down to freezing point.
