Description:
This is a very beautiful and charming fan palm which, in its natural habitat can grow to more than 5 meters tall. The leaves are soft, dark green above and attractively white underneath. The crown is compact over a slender trunk. This palm actually forms aerial roots which are transformed into spines which cover the trunk.
Climate Zones:
Crysophila warscewiczii grows best in tropical and subtropical climates and as all the nine species of the genus are intolerant of freezing conditions, although the genus name suggests otherwise. Nevertheless, it is likely to grow also in temperate climates if planted in a protected position.
