Cuba, Mexico, Florida and many Central American countries.
Culture:
Although the Cuban Royal Palm will grow well in soils far from ideal one requirement should be met: the soil need to be well draining.
It should be planted in a well lit, sunny position and given adequate moisture.
Description:
The Cuban Royal Palm is a magnificent and beautiful palm which is often used along walk or drive ways or in groups of three or four palms. It can grow to a height of sometimes 30 meters with a trunk size of 60 cm. The crownshaft measures nearly two meters, bulging at its base and is emerald green in colour. The leaf crown holds up to 15 fronts each about 3.5 meters long.
Climate Zones:
Roystonea regia is somewhat drought tolerant and even quite cold hardy, accepting temperatures down to -2º C for a short period of time.
