Distribution & Habitat:
Pachypodium saundersii comes from South Africa and is a hardy, fast grower, which flowers already when young, about 1 year of age.

Culture:
In the home garden the Kulu Lily should be watered regularly during the growing season in summer but kept totally dry in winter.

Description:
Pachypodium saundersii is a member of the Dogbane family (Apocynaceae) to which Adeniums and Plumeria (Frangipani) also belong.
The Kudu Lily produces white flowers in late summer even if only young. It will be dormant during winter when temperatures fall to about 15° C and comes strongly back to life in spring.

Climate Zones:
This is a very hardy species and can handle temperatures well below 0° C.
