Distribution & Habitat:
Native to rainforest areas in tropical and sub-tropical areas of Eastern Australia. Especially prevalent around the Cedar Bay region, hence the name.

Culture:
Eugenia reinwardtiana grows in full sun but will appreciate a little shade when planted in an exposed northerly aspect. It prefers a well draining soil and plenty of mulch around the drip line.

Description:
The Beach Cherry or Cedar Bay Cherry is a beautiful small tree to about 3 meters tall with bright green shiny leaves typical for lilly pillies.
Its fruits are delicious and sweet. They can be eaten fresh, used to flavour drinks and to make preserves. The fruits are preceded by small and attractive white flowers.

Climate Zones:
The Beach Cherry can survive temperature drops to freezing point for sort periods of time.
